Clearing out the Old Forge

The old forge had been disused for about 30 years or more and was full of old machinery, tools and general rubbish.  It was a very dirty job to clean it all out.  Everything was covered in black soot; and even the planks of wood on the ceiling needed removing and replacing.  This work was carried out over the summer of 2011.

There were several items of machinery left behind.  Sadly we were only able to salvage a few items; the rest had to go to the scrap metal man, Didier.  We created a new toolshed in the barn to house all our renovation junk.
